COVID-19 Communications: Promoting Prevention Measures and Vaccine Confidence

The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) convened a multidisciplinary expert roundtable in January 2021 to share research, insights, and best practices for improving and harmonizing communication to the public about the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of following evidence-based public health prevention measures. Based on the roundtable discussion, NFID developed a new report, COVID-19 Communications: Promoting Prevention Measures and Vaccine Confidence, to provide a framework for developing effective communications.

We all have a role to play in educating the public about COVID-19 prevention measures. But as science continues to evolve and recommendations shift, there is potential for confusion and frustration.

COVID-19 Communications Toolkit

NFID has developed this toolkit with resources to help leaders across sectors—including business, education, employers, workforce, and government—communicate effectively and encourage the public to follow evidence-based public health prevention measures to control the spread of COVID-19.
