
In this recorded webinar, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and partner organizations, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the National Coalition for Infant Health (NCfIH), host a discussion on strategies to help prevent infectious diseases and increase uptake of recommended vaccines during pregnancy. Speakers also discuss vaccines commonly recommended during pregnancy in the US.
NFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, moderates the discussion with NFID Vice President Kevin A. Ault, MD, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine, and NFID Director Flor M. Muñoz, MD, MSc, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine.
At the conclusion of the activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the importance of immunization in protecting pregnant women and infants
- Discuss disparities in immunization rates among pregnant women in the US
- Identify strategies for improving vaccination coverage among pregnant women in the US
