Alison’s Story (Tetanus)

When I was small child less than 5 years old, I went barefoot all time. My parents constantly warned me not to step on nails and where to play safely. They also often told me about a boy in our town (Escondido, CA) who died from tetanus. His name was LeRoy Riddlespurger. I am 81 and have never forgotten his name or story. I have been consistent about getting my tetanus shot every 10 years.

As a child, I had most of the childhood diseases. I was thankful then for my sugar cube with polio vaccine and am now grateful for my COVID-19 vaccine.
