We are the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID), located in Bethesda, MD. We are searching for a dynamic and strategic Development Director to lead our fundraising initiatives. This key position is responsible for creating, planning, and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the NFID mission. The Director will focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors, corporate grants and sponsorships, and foundation support to achieve established revenue goals. Core responsibilities for this position include:
- Developing, managing, and executing a clearly defined annual fundraising plan, to diversify and sustain NFID revenue sources
- Creating donor cultivation and stewardship strategy, including appropriate and timely acknowledgment of all donations and contributions and prospect identification and solicitation
- Crafting compelling stories to demonstrate value and impact of support
- Building strong relationships with new and existing partners and supporters to promote opportunities for engagement
We are interested in hearing from you about this rewarding opportunity if you have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record of creating and executing successful fundraising campaigns, with success in soliciting major gifts from individuals, foundation, and corporations
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising for a health-related organization including proven success with individual, foundation, and corporate donations
- Demonstrated success in managing annual fundraising plan, including development, implementation, evaluation, and achievement of goals
- Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to network effectively, cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, and successfully close gifts of support
