When and where will the gala be held?
The NFID Gala and Silent Auction will be held on September 19, 2024, at the Willard InterContinental DC, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004

What time will the event begin and end?
The event will begin with a reception and silent auction at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner and a program at 7:30 PM, and will end with a dessert reception and silent auction at 9:30 PM. The evening events will conclude at 10:30 PM.

Do I need a ticket to attend the event?
All attendees must register to attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance and onsite registration will not be available.

What is the refund policy?
As the premier fundraising event for the organization, NFID is unable to offer refunds on any donations or ticket purchases. All ticket sales are final. Tickets may be transferred until August 29, 2024.

Are ticket purchases tax deductible?
All purchases, less $250 per seat, are tax deductible under applicable laws

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Any dietary requests, including food allergies, must be sent via email to awards@nfid.org by August 29, 2024. Requests received after the deadline may not be accommodated.

What is the dress code?
The dress code for the event is black-tie attire

Is there a discounted rate for hotel reservations?
NFID has reserved a block of rooms for the evening of September 19, 2024. Attendees must be registered for the gala in order to receive the discounted group rate. Hotel reservations may be made online or through the reservations department by phone (202.628.9100) by August 29, 2024 (using the code NFI) to receive the NFID discounted group rate.

What is the deadline to submit guest names for table purchases?
All guest lists for table purchases must be sent via email to awards@nfid.org by August 29, 2024

How can I nominate someone for a 2025 award?
NFID presents annual awards to outstanding individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to public health through scientific achievement, philanthropy, and/or policy work. NFID will begin accepting online nominations for the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Humanitarian Award and the Maxwell Finland Award for Scientific Achievement in early 2025.
