Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) for a discussion highlighting the importance of vaccination to help protect against severe illness during the ongoing measles outbreak. Speakers will discuss current vaccine recommendations for measles and provide effective strategies to help increase vaccine uptake in the US.
NFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, will moderate the discussion with NFID Director Matthew M. Zahn, MD, Pediatric Infectious Disease Physician at Rady Children’s Health and Anna-Kathryn Burch, MD, Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital – Midlands and Associate Professor of Pediatric Clinical Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
At the conclusion of the activity, participants will be able to:
- Discuss current evidence-based recommendations for measles
- Describe the burden of measles in the US
- Implement communication strategies to help increase measles vaccination rates in the US
