Purpose:
To establish clear guidelines for responding to requests for endorsements, testimonials, or promotional statements from vendors, service providers, or commercial partners.

Policy Statement:
The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) maintains strict neutrality with respect to commercial products, services, or companies. As a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFID does not endorse or promote specific vendors, brands, or commercial entities.

This policy applies to all NFID staff, volunteers, Board members, and representatives when interacting with external vendors or service providers.

Guidelines:

  1. No Endorsements:
NFID will not provide written or verbal endorsements, testimonials, or public support for any vendor, product, or service.
  2. Use of Name and Logo:
Vendors may not use the NFID name or logo without prior written permission, and such use will only be granted for limited, mutually agreed purposes (e.g., listing NFID as a client in a factual, non-promotional context).
  3. Contractual Language:
All contracts with vendors should include language that explicitly prohibits the use of NFID name, logo, or affiliation for promotional purposes without prior written approval.
  4. Recognition of Service Quality:
While NFID does not provide endorsements, internal acknowledgments of satisfactory service may be shared privately with vendors for their records, without permission to publish or promote the content externally.

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as necessary. All questions about the policy should be directed to communications@nfid.org.
