
In this recorded webinar, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) hosts a discussion on the importance of vaccination to help protect against severe illness during the upcoming US respiratory season. Speakers discuss current recommendations for COVID-19, influenza (flu), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and pneumococcal disease prevention, and will highlight strategies to increase immunization rates.
NFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, moderates the discussion with presentations by Demetre C. Daskalakis, MD, MPH, Director, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and NFID Director Flor M. Muñoz, MD, MSc, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Baylor College of Medicine.
At the conclusion of the activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe current US immunization recommendations for COVID-19, influenza (flu), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and pneumococcal disease
- Discuss the burden of COVID-19, flu, RSV, and pneumococcal disease in the US, including health disparities
- Implement communication strategies to increase vaccination rates
