Special Symposia

In addition to submitted abstract presentation sessions, the 9th Annual Conference on Vaccine Research (ACVR) will feature invited experts presenting at eight symposia on (1) tuberculosis vaccines, (2) vaccines for adults and elderly, (3) adolescent vaccines, (4) herd immunity, (5) novel vaccine designs, (6) vaccinology in veterinary public health, (7) vaccine safety, and (8) physiologic barriers to oral immunization in developing countries.

International Travel Grant Program

With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the 9th ACVR is pleased for the second year again to offer awards for airfare, hotel lodging, meal expenses, and the registration fee for vaccine and infectious disease researchers from countries with limited resources to attend and present their work at the conference. The deadline both for application as well as scientific abstract submission (via the online facility) for a travel grant award is December 2, 2005, earlier than the regular abstract deadline of February 10, 2006.
